Anna Cashin (Zena – Oct 10 Evening and Oct 11 Evening)
Anna is a grade 7 student at St. Peter’s Junior High. She has studied piano and voice with Mary Lynn Hiscock. Anna’s true passion is dance and she has been with Revolutions Dance since she was 2 years old. Last year, Anna performed in Kittiwake Dance Theatre’s, “Alice and other Wonderlands” and “The Nutcracker”.
Anna is extremely thankful for the opportunity to perform in “Matilda” with Peter MacDonald Productions. She has made many new friends and has enjoyed learning from such a talented group of performers.
Anna Paterson (Eric – Oct 10 AM, Oct 11 AM, Oct 12 Evening)
Anna Paterson is a 12 year old Grade 7 student at Mount Pearl Intermediate. Anna has been taking vocal lessons from Sarah Loveys for four years and loves to perform!! She also dances competitively with Elite Dance Studio in Paradise under the instruction of Isabel Hennebury. Anna has performed as part of the dance ensembles in both “How Do You Get To Jellybean Row” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” (BKP). Anna also enjoys playing piano and reading!! She is excited to be a part of the Children’s Chorus and join the talented cast of “Matilda”. Anna would like to thank everyone at PMP for this amazing opportunity!
Annalise Smith (Nurse/Parent Chorus/Mrs. Phelps)
Annalise Smith is a professor of music history at the School of Music at Memorial University, where her research focuses on opera and its performance contexts. Outside the classroom, she has performed a variety of roles on the stage, including Edwin Drood (The Mystery of Edwin Drood) and Constance (The Sorcerer) with Ithaca Savoyards, and Belinda (Dido and Aeneas) and Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance) with The University of Calgary Operetta Company. While completing her doctoral studies in Ithaca, New York, Annalise produced and starred in the United States premiere of David Rhymer’s cabaret, Songs from Nightingale Alley. Annalise is thrilled to be performing the role of Mrs. Phelps in her first production with Peter MacDonald Productions!
Ben Tehrani (Michael/Teen Chorus)
Ben Tehrani is thrilled to be performing in the cast of Matilda. Ben is a fifteen year old, grade 10 student at St. Bonaventure’s College, where he is an active member in the school’s music program (wind ensemble, jazz band and chamber choir). Ben studies voice with Peter McDonald and Theory/Clarinet with Brenda Gatherall. Recently, he played the role of Pharaoh in BKP’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Past productions include Scrooge 2014/16/18, Oliver 2017 (PMP), HONK!, James and the Giant Peach and How do you get to Jellybean Row? (BKP). When not performing, Ben can often be found on the turf playing a game of Ultimate Frisbee. Ben would like to thank Peter, Ronalda, Mara and Valerie for this opportunity and has had a blast working with this talented cast and team. He hopes you enjoy the show!
Bridget Clarke (Teen Chorus)
Bridget Clarke is a grade 10 student at Gonzaga High school. Bridget is an active dancer at The Dance Center. Participating in classes such as ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and contemporary. She has been formally trained in both Highland and Irish dancing. Bridget was a cast member of “the Wizard of Oz”, “Scrooge” (Fan), “Oliver” and many more. Bryony Faye Fowler (Matilda – Oct 10 AM, Oct 11 AM, Oct 12 Evening)
Matilda is Bryony Faye Fowler’s second production with Peter MacDonald
Productions (having previously performed in the chorus of Tarzan) and she is very excited to perform the title role in wonderful show! Other Theatre Credits include Gretl in Sound of Music, chorus in Annie and Lily in Let the Boy Sing with Gussied Up Productions, she has been a featured soloist in
Our Divas Do Christmas (Ta-Da). She has attended Musical Theatre Intensives with A Class Act NY in NYC and received numerous scholarships and awards for musical theatre in both the St. John’s and Carbonear Kiwanis Music Festivals and various local and national dance competitions.
She has appeared in several short films and Television commercials including Lovely Mummers (Rendering Glint), A Christmas Fury (Rink Rat Productions), Spare Parts (Catching Amistad) andShattered Mind’s Eye (Happy Days) as well as a series of commercials for Marine Atlantic.
Bryony is an accomplished competitive dancer with Elite Dance in Paradise having received numerous medals and cash awards and scholarships at local and national competitions both team and solo including Gold in Under 10 Lyric Solos and under 12 Musical Theatre at Dance World Cup. She is also an accomplished competitive Gymnast with Cygnus Gymnastics having
won gold medals in the level 7 Argo category at both the 2019 provincial and Atlantic Gymnastic competitions. Bryony is a student of Rennies River Elementary and also takes lessons in voice & piano (with her Dad, Calvin Powell), Ukulele (Peter Andrew MacDonald), Violin (Dominic Greene) and
Aerials (IFLY). She has attended aerial and contortion workshops at the National Circus School in Montreal. She was awarded the 2018 Gold Medal for highest mark in the Royal Conservatory of Music piano exams for level Prep B in Atlantic Canada. In her limited spare time she enjoys searching You Tube for craft project instructions and reading novels. Her favourite authors are Lemony Snickers and of Course, Roald Dahl.
Caroline Keats (Parent Chorus)
Caroline Keats is a first year science student at Memorial University and studied voice with Peter MacDonald for five years. She has been fortunate to have performed in many local productions such as Trummp the Musical, Oliver, Scrooge ‘16’ & ‘14’, Santa’s Place ‘15’ & ‘13’ (PMP), the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (GHS), Our Divas Do Christmas (Ta da events), Pirates of Penzance, and Alice in Wonderland (BKP). Caroline is thrilled to be a part of the amazing cast of “Matilda” as part of the Parent Chorus and would like to thank Peter, Ronalda, and Mara for this wonderful opportunity to perform in one of her favorite musicals. Carolyn Rice (Parent Chorus)
Carolyn lives in Mount Pearl with her husband and three children. She has retired after a 34 year working career and now spends her time gardening, boating, volunteering, travelling and of course singing. She first became interested in musicals when her youngest daughter encouraged her to audition with her for a part in Annie. It was an impromtu decision and she has never looked back. Other musicals include Santas Place and Scrooge;14,16&18. She loves the friendships she has made and the magical moments in rehearsals and on stage with all the cast.

Charlotte Harris (Lavender – Oct 10 AM, Oct 11 AM, Oct 12 Evening)
Charlotte Harris is 9 years old and attends 4th Grade FI at Mary Queen of
Peace School. She spends most of her time singing, dancing, or singing and dancing at the same time! Charlotte has been fortunate enough to perform in How Do You Get to Jellybean Row?, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (Best Kind Productions), as well as PMP’s 2018 production of Scrooge. In addition to singing with Shallaway and the children’s choir for Our Divas Do Christmas, she has also been seen donning a set of mouse ears in Kittiwake Dance Theatre’s Nutcracker. Charlotte is absolutely delighted to be a part of this wonderful cast and hopes you enjoy the show!
Christopher Swyer (Parent Chorus/Escapologist/Gangster)
Chris Swyer is a 16 year old student at HHM. He has studied voice for 7 years with Peter Macdonald and he dances at The Dance Centre. He’s a member of the Holy Heart Performing Arts Program and a member of the Holy Heart Chamber Choir. Past Credits include Scrooge (PMP), Honk (BKP), Santa’s Place (PMP), Oliver (PMP), Trummp (PMP), Ours (OOTA), and The Little Mermaid (HHM).
Claire Bradley (Teen Chorus)
Claire is a Grade 10 student at Holy Heart. She started performing in musicals when she was nine years old, mostly recently Scrooge (PMP), Not Myself Today (CFPA) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (BKP). She has been dancing at The Dance Centre since she was three years old and has been taking voice lessons with Ronalda Hutton MacDonald for the last six years. This past summer for the first time, Claire had the privilege of being choreographer for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Best Kind Productions.

Claire Hodder is 12 years old and a grade seven student at Mount Pearl intermediate. Previous shows include Scrooge 2018 (PMP), Alice and other Wonderlands with kittiwake Dance Theatre 2018 and several productions of the Nutcracker with Kittiwake Dance Theatre over the past few years. She has been a student of Connie Parsons School of Dance since the age of 4 studying various styles of dance and is a member of their competition team. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with her friends. Claire is thrilled to be a part of the cast of Matilda and would like to thank everyone at Peter McDonald Productions for the Opportunity! Claire Simmons is an 11-year-old grade 6 student at Mary Queen of Peace
Elementary. She loves performing and has been in several local productions including: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Best Kind Productions), Scrooge (PMP), The Nutcracker (Kittiwake), Tosca (OOTA) and Our Divas Do Christmas (TaDa!). Claire studies voice with Peter MacDonald, dances at Connie Parsons School of Dance and is a member of the Ignite Dance Company competition team. Conor is a 16 year old grade 11 student at Holy Heart high school where he is a member of the Chamber Choir and the Performing Arts Certificate Program. Daniel Dumaresque Correa (Teen Chorus)
Daniel is a grade 9 student at St. Paul’s Junior high. For Daniel, music is a big
part of his life. Daniel plays Piano, Trombone and Euphonium at his school and at different programs at MUN. But one of Daniels favourite aspects of music is singing. Daniel sings with Shallaway Youth Choir and is also a part of his school choirs. Choir is something that Daniel enjoys a lot, however, he also really loves musical theatre. Daniel’s first musical was Honk!(2016 BKP) and ever since then he’s been involved in so many local shows. Some of his other past appearances include: Scrooge (2016-2018 PMP), James and the Giant Peach (2017 BKP), How do you get to Jelly Bean Row? (2018 BKP) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2019 BKP). Daniel is so excited to be apart this amazing production and hopes to be in many more productions by PMP.
Ella Ball (Nelda – Oct 10 Evening and Oct 11 Evening)
Ella is a Grade 6 student at Newton Elementary. She is a proud member of Shallaway, studies voice with Ms. Ronalda Hutton MacDonald, plays trumpet in her school band, studies piano with Ms. Lesley Heys and dances at Mount Pearl School of Dance. Ella has appeared in Jospeh and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Best Kind Productions) (2019), Scrooge (Peter MacDonald Productions) (2016) (2018), Nutcracker (Kittiwake Dance Theatre) (2017), Divas (TaDa Events) (2017) (2018), and Trummp: The Musical (Peter MacDonald Productions) (2018). Ella Hickey is a Grade 6 student at St Bonaventure’s College, where she is a member of the Chamber Choir and plays the Trumpet in the Concert Band. Ella is member of Shalloway, Vivo and dances with the Dance Centre. She has taken piano and voice with Ms. Gillian Vaughan, and Ronalda, and has been singing since she was 5 years old. She was invited to perform “Quiet”, from Matilda, on the Stars of the 2019 Kiwanis Music Festival, and received The Canadian Federation of University Women Award for the same performance. She his thrilled to take part in her first Peter MacDonald Production.

Ella Gosse is a grade 9 student at Macdonald Drive Junior High. Ella has been studying voice with Ronalda Hutton MacDonald for the past 6 years. She trains in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, hip hop, Latin, and modern at Steffen Dance Studio and is a member of their competition team. Her past performances include Nutcracker (2015-19), Scrooge (2016 & 2018), James and The Giant Peach (2017), Oliver (2017), How do you get to Jellybean Row? Emma Neville (Grace – Oct 10 Evening and Oct 11 Evening)
Emma is an 11 year old, Grade 7 Mount Pearl Intermediate School student. She is an avid performer in musical theatre and arts. She has been fortunate to have performed in many local productions such as “Scrooge” (PMP), “Oliver” (PMP), “Etcetera 31”, ”Etcetera 32”(performed solo as Jackson 5/School of Rock) and “Etcetera 33”(performed as Young Nala from the Lion King/SClub7), “Festival of Lessons and Carols”, “Kiwanis Musical Festivals” and “Rotary Music Festivals”. Emma studies voice under the direction of Justin Goulding and has been taking piano lessons with her grandmother, Sharon Learning since the early age of 4. She actively participates in School Band/Choir and is a member of the Mount Pearl Show Choir. When Emma is not on stage, she enjoys drawing and creating artwork. Recently, her “Helping Hands” artwork was chosen out of 800 entries to be displayed on the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s “Wall of Appreciation”. Emma is very excited to be part of this amazing show!

Emily March-Maccuish is 18 years old and recently started attending the center for nursing studies. She has been apart of the theatre community for most of her life being cast in many past musicals and plays such as Scrooge (PMP), Santa’s Place (PMP), Wizard of Oz (PMP) , Trummp the Musical (PMP) and various school performances. Finley Cavanagh (Tommy – Oct 10 AM, Oct 11 AM, Oct 12 Evening)
Finn loves to act, sing and dance. He dances with The Dance Centre and does voice lessons with Kyle McDavid. He has been part of the Ensemble cast in Scrooge (PMP); James and the Giant Peach (Best Kind Productions), Oliver (PMP), The Nutcracker (Kittiwake), and How Do You Get to Jellybean Row (Best Kind Productions). More recently he played the Youngest Scrooge in the Peter MacDonald Production of Scrooge, and Benjamin in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (BKP). Gabi Roche (Teen Chorus)
Gabi Roche is thrilled to be performing in her favourite musical, Matilda! Gabi is a 15 year-old, Grade 10 student who has been performing in local musicals since the age of 7. She studies voice (with Meghan Herder), piano, and dance at The Dance Centre. Over the past several years, she has also been member of St. Bonaventure’s College senior choirs, and has received several awards from the Kiwanis Music Festival for her vocal group performances with family. Gavin Baggs (Nigel – Oct 10 Evening and Oct 11 Evening)
Gavin Baggs is a 12 year old student at Mount Pearl Intermediate. He has been involved in voice, piano, guitar, Junior Showchoir and Etcetera Productions for years. When he is not performing or in a rehearsal he can be found playing wheelchair basketball,sledge hockey or soccer. Gavin has been onstage in various theatre productions over the past four years; recent credits include Truump (PMP), Scrooge (PMP), Divas Do Christmas (Tada), and had the role of John in Fun Home (Best Kind Productions). He is very excited to be a part of Matilda and would like to thank PMP for this opportunity.
Gracie Goobie (Lavender – Oct 10 Evening and Oct 11 Evening)
“Gracie is 10 years old and in grade 5 at Baltimore Complex. She as been dancing at Revolutions Dance since she was 3, and has been on their competitive team for 2 years now. This past Spring Gracie had 20 competitive routines over 3 separate competitions and rounded up quite a number of medals and awards. Gracie absolutely loves being on stage and is very excited to be making her PMP debut in Matilda!”
Isabella Veitch (Grace – Oct 10 AM, Oct 11 AM, Oct 12 Evening)
Isabella Veitch of St. John’s is going into Grade 7 at St. Paul’s Junior High. She takes voice lessons with Peter MacDonald, is a student of The Dance Centre and loves performing. She previously appeared as a member of the “Cratchit Family” in the PMP Scrooge a Christmas Tradition and was “Mr Salt” in the Mary Queen of Peace School production of Willy Wonka Jr. Isabella also loves hockey, soccer and all types of sports.
Julia Drover Grane (Aunt/Teen Chorus)
Julia is a 13 year old Grade 8 student at Brookside Intermediate. She is thrilled to be a part of the teen chorus of Matilda! This is Julia’s 6th PMP production and is so happy to be working with this years cast and production team. Julia sings with Meghan Herder, is a piano student of Tiffany Pinhorn- Smith, a Dancer at The Dance Centre and is a member is Shallaways’ Camerata and Exsaulte ensembles. She has performed in the past three Best Kind Productions shows as well as Tada’s Our Diva’s do Christmas. Julia loves performing but says that…sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty!!
Julianne Taylor (Hortensia – Oct 10 AM, Oct 11 AM, Oct 12 Evening)
Julianne Taylor is a grade 7 student at Beaconsfield Junior High. She takes voice and piano lessons at Take Note Music School and has competed in the Kiwanis Music Festival for several years. She has also completed her Grade 3 RCM in both piano and voice. She is a member of Steffen Dance’s Performance Program (ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop, modern and latin jazz) and Competition Dance Team, She has previously appeared in PMP’s, Oliver! (children’s chorus), Best Kind Productions “How Do You Get to Jelly Bean Row?” (children’s chorus), and Kittiwake’s “The Nutcracker,” most recently as Clara. Julianne is very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the cast of Mathilda!
Kate Billard (Mrs. Wormwood)
Katie Billard is a recent graduate of Randolph College for the Performing Arts in Toronto, Ontario. She is absolutely thrilled to be back on stage with Peter MacDonald productions after her time away. Some of Katie’s prior credits include “Footloose” (RCPA), “The Skriker” (RCPA), “Our Divas Do Christmas” (TaDa), “Anything Goes” (PMP), and she is currently working on Shakespeare by the Seas’ production of Macbeth! Katie sends a huge thank you to the Peter MacDonald Productions team for this amazing opportunity, as well as the many family, friends and teachers who have given constant support throughout the years.”
Katie Steeves (Parent Chorus)
Katie Steeves is an 18 year old, first-year Science student at MUN and is thrilled to perform for you! She has been studying dance since the age of 3 at Sorensen School of Dance, has been acting with the Performing Arts Group for 10 years and takes voice lessons with Megan Barnes. Past credits include: Into the Woods (PMP, SYC), Play (MUN Drama),Godspell (Etc Productions) and the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (GHS). Hope you enjoy the show!
Kyle Dray (Parent Chorus/Mechanical/Gangster)
Kyle Dray is a 22 year old student at Memorial University’s School of Music. He is a voice major currently in his second year of studies with Dr. Jane Leibel. “Matilda” is Kyle’s first production with PMP, but he has had much experience performing in various shows and performances with the Mount Pearl Show Choir and the Company of Etcetera Productions. These include a performance on Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas cruise ship, performances in Finland, Russia, and in Florida as part of Disney’s Candlelight Processional, as well as the annual “Etcetera” concert series in which he has taken part in since 2010. Kyle’s past experiences of performances and musical groups are what have inspired him to pursue music education as a career to be able to give great musical opportunities and experiences to others as his music teachers have for him. He has loved taking part in his first production with Peter MacDonald Productions and hopes you enjoy the show!
Kathryn Stamp (Alice – Oct 10 AM, Oct 11 AM, Oct 12 Evening)
Kathryn is a Grade 7 French Immersion student and MacDonald Drive Junior High. Kathryn has been singing and dancing since she was a small child. Kathryn has been a member of the Shallaway Youth Choir since she was 7, and in 2016 she began private voice lessons with Ronalda Hutton-MacDonald. Kathryn has been dancing at the Dance Centre since 2011 where she studies ballet, jazz, contemporary, acro jazz and pointe. Kathryn has been involved with many musical theatre, dance and opera productions in the last 5 years, including: Scrooge, Oliver (PMP); How to Get to JellyBean Row, and Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat (Best Kind Productions); Ours, Tosca, Dead Man Walking (Opera on the Avalon); and, Nutcracker and, Alice in Wonderland (Kittiwake). Kathryn is so thrilled to be sharing the stage with so many of her musical theatre friends in another PMP musical.

Kate Healey is a 12 year old grade 7 student at St. Paul’s Jr. High. She has studied voice with Ronalda MacDonald since the age of six and has been dancing since the age of two. She currently dances with the Dance Centre. Kelsie Scott (Matilda – Oct 10 Evening and Oct 11 Evening)
Kelsie Scott is 11 years old and is in grade 6 at MQP. Kelsie has performed in many local productions, including : How do you to get to Jelly Bean Row? (Best Kind Productions), Oliver! (PMP),James & The Giant Peach (BKP), The Sound of Music (Opera on the Avalon),The Nutcracker (Kittiwake), Tosca (OOTA), Diva’s do Christmas (TaDa), Ours (OOTA), Scrooge (PMP) and Joseph and the amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (BKP). Kelsie studies voice with Peter MacDonald and has been dancing since she was four at dance schools including Connie Parsons School of Dance and the Dance Centre. Kelsie also enjoys performing ventriloquism with her bunny “Sugar” and recently won first place at Kids expo 2019 NL Kids Have talent contest. Lauren Patten (Bruce – Oct 10 AM, Oct 11 AM, Oct 12 Evening)
Lauren Patten (12) made her stage debut in Lois Brown’s When The Angel of Death Says? How are you… at RCA’s LSPU Hall at the tender age of 9. She was cast as young Brianna in the award-winning feature film, An Audience of Chairs, which aired nationally on CBC television. A grade 7 student of Beaconsfield Junior High, Lauren loves performing with the Shallaway Jubilate Youth Choir and has performed as a soloist. Since the age of 3, Lauren has studied dance with Dance Studio East and currently, is part of their pre-pro juniors program. Lauren has performed in Kittiwake’s The Nutcracker for the past five years. Lauren loves playing trumpet & ukulele, reading books and being with her BFF’s. She hopes to travel around the world, study Shakespeare and be an actress when she grows up. She is thrilled to be making her musical debut in Peter MacDonald’s production, Matilda!
Lauren Stamp (Teen Chorus)
Lauren is a Grade 10 French Immersion student at Gonzaga High School. Having received her early voice training with Shallaway Youth Choir, Lauren now studies voice with Ronalda Hutton-MacDonald. Since the age of four, Lauren has also been a student at the Dance Centre in St. John’s, where she studies ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, broadway and pointe. Lauren has been involved in several stage productions including PMP’s staging of Scrooge, Santa’s Place, and Oliver; and, Opera on the Avalon’s productions of Dead Man Walking and, The Sound of Music (playing the part of Brigitta Von Trapp). Lauren is delighted to be back performing with the PMP team in this production of Matilda.
Lilly Pope (Alice – Oct 10 Evening and Oct 11 Evening)
Lilly Pope is a 12 year old student in Grade 7 at Mount Pearl Intermediate. Lilly studies voice lessons at MacDonald Music Studio with Peter MacDonald Sr. Lilly also sings in a youth church choir. Lilly has participated in dance training at Barb Ashley School Of Dance since the age of 2. She trains in Pointe, Modern, Hip Hop, Jazz and Tap. She recently began to play the Ukulele. She plays piano and trains with Megan Barnes (Etcetera Productions). Lilly performed in Etcetera 30, 31 and 33 with the Junior Show Choir ( Etcetera Productions). In 2017 Lilly was on stage in Our Divas Do Christmas (TADA). She performed in Scrooge 2018 (PMP). This past summer she performed in the production of Joseph and The Amazing Tecnicolor Dreamcoat (Best Kind Productions). Lilly is very excited to perform in the production of Matilda. She is grateful for the opportunity and would like to thank the team of Peter Macdonald Productions.
Lily Reid (The Acrobat)
Lily is a level 3 student at Holy Heart of Mary High School. She studies voice with Ronalda Hutton and has trained in ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary at The Dance Centre since the age of 4. She has performed with PMP in several shows such as “Santa’s Place”, “Scrooge”, “Oliver” and “Trummp”. Other productions include “The Little Mermaid”, “New Voices” and “Holy Heart High 60th Anniversary” at the Holy Heart Theatre. Lily is very grateful for the opportunity to be a member of the “Matilda” cast and is excited for everyone to see the show!
Lydia Meaney (Hortensia – Oct 10 Evening and Oct 11 Evening)
Lydia is 10 years old and is a Grade 5 student at Octagon Pond Elementary. She is having a ball being a “revolting child”, and thanks PMP for this wonderful performance and learning opportunity!
Lydia has performed in the PMP productions of Oliver! (2017) and Scrooge (2018). She loves studying voice with Ronalda Hutton-MacDonald, and piano with Peggy Noseworthy. Lydia is a Performance Program 2 dance student at Steffen Dance Studio, and take gymnastics at Campia. She also loves being a little AND big sister to her brothers Alexander and Colin…she’s the ham in the sandwich. Lydia hopes you enjoy Matilda as much as she does!
Madeline Pearce (Teen Chorus)
Madeline Pearce is entering grade 10 this year at Gonzaga High School and is delighted once again to be included in the PMP family as part of the teen/dance chorus in this years production of “Matilda” . She has been a voice student of Peter MacDonald for many years and has been dancing at the Dance Centre since the age of four . Her past performances include “Wizard of Oz “ (2013) , “Scrooge “ ( 2014, 2016) , and “Santa’s Place” ( 2015) . In her spare time she can be found playing basketball or at the lake training for the Royal St John’s Regatta. Madeline would like to thank Peter , Ronalda , Mara and Valerie for another opportunity .
Madison Davis (Teen Chorus)
Madison Davis is a grade 9 French Immersion Student at St. Paul’s Junior High. She has been dancing for 11 years and trains in ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary at The Dance Centre. Madison is also a member of the Apprentice Program with Kittiwake Dance Theatre. She studies voice with Peter MacDonald Sr. Her past performances include: Ghost of Christmas Past and Children’s Chorus in Scrooge (PMP); Our Diva’s Do Christmas Youth Choir and Diva’s Dancers (TADA Events); Alice and Other Wonderlands and several productions of the Nutcracker (Kittiwake Dance Theatre). Madison is thrilled to perform in this production of Matilda and would like to thank Peter MacDonald Productions for this amazing opportunity! Hope you enjoy the show!
Matthew Power (Doctor/Parent Chorus)
Matthew Power is a 25 year old Operations Supervisor from Clarenville who works at NARL Refining’s oil refinery in Come-by-Chance. His love of the stage began with narrating “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” in kindergarten and he hasn’t looked back since. His most recent credits include the Nephew in PMP’s “Scrooge”, a Reporter in PMP’s “Trummp! The Musical”, and a Crapshooter in Atlantic Light’s “Guys and Dolls”. This is his third production with PMP and he can’t wait to brush off the English accent once again for “Matilda”.
Nick Mandville (Miss Agatha Trunchbull)
Nick Mandville is a student in the Faculty of Education at Memorial University and is absolutely thrilled to be a part of this incredible show alongside this insanely talented cast! Nick studied voice with Justin Goulding and Megan Barnes at the Studio of Etcetera Productions and is a member of The Company. Nick was a member of the Mount Pearl Show Choir and traveled across the globe with them as a member of the Peace Education Project. Nick is Co-Artistic Director of GroupHug Productions alongside Erika Squires, and their first production Never Swim Alone premiered at the GEO Centre last March. Some past theatre credits include: Trummp the Musical the Tour (PMP), Hurry Hard, Be More Chill (Best Kind Productions), The Sound of Music (Opera on the Avalon), A Call to Arms (Atlantic Light), Jesus Christ Superstar, Our Divas Do Christmas (TaDa!), Seussical, Cats, Godspell, Shrek (Etcetera Productions), All Shook Up, and Beauty and the Beast as the Beast (Rennie’s River). Paul Ewan Wilson ( Mr. Wormwood) *
Paul is very happy to be working with Peter MacDonald Productions for the first time in their production of Matilda the Musical! Trained as an actor at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia, Paul worked extensively in Melbourne and Ontario before relocating with his family to Newfoundland. Work here includes 6 seasons with Perchance Theatre at Cupids in various roles including; Mark Antony (Julius Caesar), Florindo (The Servant of Two Masters), Trigorin (The Seagull), Oberon (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Clarence (Richard III), Orsino (Twelfth Night), Capulet (Romeo & Juliet), and Macbeth (Macbeth).
Other recent stage roles include; Buddy (We Will Rock You – TaDa!), Widow Rhubarb (Tangly – RCAT), Leap (Leave of Absence – New Curtain Theatre), Jackie “Dad” Elliot (Billy Elliot – Atlantic Light), Pip/Theo Wexler (Three Days of Rain – Sweetline), Lonny (Rock of Ages – TaDa!), and Dr. Fine (Next to Normal – Best Kind).
Having appeared in numerous short films, and two episodes of CBC’s Republic of Doyle, Paul can be seen in the recurring role of Vanstone on 3 seasons of the TV series: Frontier, streaming now through Crave TV in Canada, and worldwide through Netflix.

Peter Drover-Crane (Eric – Oct 10 Evening and Oct 11 Evening)
Peter is a grade 5 student at Brookside Intermediate. He is having so much fun as Matilda’s friend Eric in the children’s chorus! Peter sings with Meghan Herder, takes boys hip hop at The Dance Centre, studies piano with Tiffany Pinhorn-Smith and plays lots of tennis and soccer! Peter believes that “ even if you’re little you can do a lot!”.
Peter MacDonald (Sergei/Parent Chorus)
Peter is a well-known voice teacher, church musician, performer and musical theatre director in Newfoundland. In addition to operating an active voice music studio, Peter with his wife Ronalda, created Peter MacDonald Productions (PMP) in 1986 and to date has produced over 38 large scale musicals in the St. John’s area. In October 2018, PMP produced their first locally written musical: “Trummp, the Musical”. Spurred on by its’ success in St. John’s, Peter took the show to Halifax, N.S. and the Edmonton Fringe Festival where it was received by enthusiastic crowds. A great big thanks to this wonderful cast and crew of Matilda who were so wonderful to work with. Each and everyone of you were a delight to work with. Thanks you so much!
Rachel Davis (Bruce – Oct 10 Evening and Oct 11 Evening)
Rachel Davis is a grade 6 student at St. Francis of Assisi. Rachel has enjoyed being part of various local productions including: Scrooge 2016/2018 (PMP), Oliver (PMP), How Do You Get to Jelly Bean Row (BKP) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat (Narrator) (BKP). She studies voice with Ronalda MacDonald and dances at Dance Studio East. Rachel is an apprentice with the Kittiwake Dance Company and also enjoys figure skating. She is thrilled to be part of PMP’s cast for Matilda!
Rebecca Sellars (Teen Chorus)
Rebecca Sellars is a 15-year-old, who is a First Class Honours French Immersion Grade 10 Student at Carbonear Collegiate. For the past 10 years, she has been studying practical and theory Voice currently under the direction of Ms. Sonya Gosse. As well, Rebecca is a member of the 2017 Choral Rose Bowl-winning choir Sonateens! Rebecca is a 7th year piano student and also a member of Carbonear Collegiate Glee Club, Rock Band Choir and Rock Band. She loves to play many instruments such as guitar, ukulele, bodhran, tin whistle, xylophone, recorder, melodica and as mentioned above, piano. Rebecca is the recipient of the Royal Conservatory Music Gold Medal for Atlantic Canada in Voice as well as various awards in past Kiwanis Music Festivals. In her free time, she loves playing sports, public speaking, drama, and musicals. Most recently Rebecca won CC Idol at Carbonear Collegiate. She has been cast in roles such as Belle in Beauty and the Beast Jr. Produced by Sarah’s Stars, orphan Tessie from the musical “Annie” produced by Gussied Up Productions, as well as roles “For King and Country” and “The Home Front” written and produced by Mrs. Leslie Forward. It has been a huge honour to be cast in Matilda, a movie she grew up watching.
Renée Antle (Parent Chorus)
Renée is a third year student at Memorial University. She has loved dancing since age 6 and currently dances at The Dance Centre. Stage credits include Tarzan(2015), Hairspray(2016), Oliver(2017) and TRUMMP the Musical(2018) all with PMP! Riley Coombes-Lush (Nigel – Oct 10 AM, Oct 11 AM, Oct 12 Evening)
Riley Coombes-Lush is an eleven year old grade six student who loves the arts! At the young age of three Riley joined The Dance Centre, where she still studies today! In September 2016 Riley started voice and piano lessons at the studios of Etcetera Productions, under the direction of Justin Goulding. Riley is a member of The Junior Show Choir of Etcetera Productions, as well as a member of the advanced performance and drama troupe of CFPA. Some past performances include: Etcetera 31(Young Moana), 32 (Jackson5, School of rock) and 33 ( Young Nala, The lion king, Sclub7) ( JR Show Choir), PMP’s Oliver (children’s chorus 2017), PMP’s Scrooge (children’s chorus 2018), CFPA’s Songs from broadway three (Squidward 2019) Nevaeh’s lemonade stand with CFPA (2018 as Sebastian) and many more! Riley is beyond excited to be a part of MATILDA and is so thankful to Peter, Ronalda and Mara for the opportunity to be a part of something truly magical!! Enjoy the show!!
Samantha Payne (Parent Chorus/Cook)
Originally from the West Coast of Newfoundland, Samantha graduated from MUN in 2012 with her M.Sc.in Chemistry. She has been dancing with BASD in St. John’s for over a decade, and is a current member of the CFPS adult choir. She has recently performed in a number of local productions, including ‘The Nutcracker’ (Kittiwake, 2017), the original new (locally written) musical ‘Trummp’ (PMP, 2018) as Miss Usa, and ‘Songs from Broadway 3’ (CFPA, 2019). Samantha is very excited to be working with the PMP team again, and is also looking forward to her upcoming role in Atlantic Light’s production of ‘9 to 5’ (Winter 2020).
Sarah Boyd (Parent Chorus)
Sarah is a first year medical student at Memorial University. She received a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology in 2017 and has done numerous research projects with a special interest in infectious diseases. This is Sarah’s first musical with Peter Macdonald Productions and she’s very excited to be joining the Matilda cast! Past credits include vocal ensemble in Rennie’s River “Beauty and the Beast” and Jenna from “Waitress” in the Courtney Fowler Performance Academy “Songs from Broadway 3”.
Sarah Connors (Zena – Oct 10 AM, Oct 11 AM, Oct 12 Evening)
Sarah Connors is a 10 year old grade 6 student at Rennies River Elementary. She is thrilled to be making her musical theatre debut in Matilda! Sarah is a member of the Steffen Dance Studio competition team and takes classes in all styles of dance through the performance program. She loves to sing, dance and do gymnastics and hopes this is the first of many future stage performances.
Sarah Loveys (Miss Honey)
Soprano Sarah Loveys has performed in many prestigious venues in the United Kingdom and Canada. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Dalhousie University (Halifax, Nova Scotia) and a Masters Degree and Artist Diploma in Vocal Performance from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (London, United Kingdom).
As an experienced performer, voice teacher, and adjudicator, Sarah moved home to Newfoundland in 2015 to open SING – a vocal studio providing training to young singers.
Most recently Sarah appeared as Hannah Aylward in Atlantic Light Theatre’s, A Call to Arms. She is thrilled to be back on stage as Miss Honey in Peter MacDonald Productions’ Matilda. In addition to her performance schedule and running a busy private studio, Sarah is a music teacher with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District.
Taylor AuCoin (Rudolpho/Parent Chorus)
After a life changing run as Trummp with PMP, Taylor AuCoin is ecstatic to be working with PMP AGAIN for Matilda the Musical. “Rehearsals for this show have been an eye opening, gut busting time” Taylor says about the process of creating this show, “the caliber of talent from all the cast is incredibly juicy to work with!” Past credits for Taylor include: Trummp the Musical the touring version (PMP), Beauty and the Beast (Rennie’s River Productions), Trummp the Musical (PMP), The Light (Atlantic Light Theatre), Footloose (Randolph Academy). Taylor cannot wait to perform alongside his ultimate stage love Katie Billard in the fully charged number “Loud” as Rudophfo. He is truly grateful to PMP for giving him the opportunity to work with them once again.
Ty Freda (Teen Chorus) Ty Freda is a grade 9 FI student at St.Pauls Jr high.
He has recently appeared as Jacob in Joseph and the Technicolour dream coat- BKP. Past credits include Oliver-PMP, young Scrooge-PMP, young Tarzan-PMP, Kurt,Sound Of Music-00TA, Our Divas Do Christmas-TADA to name a few. Ty is ecstatic to be a part of Matilda with such a talented cast and grateful for this wonderful opportunity!
