Because of the large demand for audition times we have added Thursday, June 9th to our audition slot list.
Scrooge 2022 Auditions will be held June 9th, June 10th and June 11th with a movement and dance call being held Sunday, June 12th for the Children’s Chorus, The Teenage Chorus, The Adult Chorus and The Dance Chorus. If you want to sign up for an audition, please click the button below and fill out the form and pick a time.
These are the first round of auditions. In the auditions there will be 2 members of our production staff and 2 to 3 other people auditioning with you. The whole process will take 8 minutes and you will be given one minute and 30 seconds to sing your song. If your song is longer than 90 seconds, we encourage you to pick the part of the song that allows you to show off your voice and facial expressions.
If you consider yourself a dancer, you must still sing for us in the 1st round of auditions. It is not necessary for you sing a musical theatre song. We would love to hear you sing “Happy Birthday” or another simple melody of your choice while presenting an emotion that the PMP panel will ask you to convey. Ie happy, sad, or mad.
While you are auditioning you will be invited to unmask. Everyone else in the room will be masked or be behind a “see-through” partition. Social distancing will clearly be lined out.
Auditions will be held
June 9 Level 1 West Studio, St. John’s Arts and Culture Center
June 10 Level 2 East Studio, St. John’s Arts and Culture Center
June 11 The Dance Space, St. John’s Arts and Culture Center
June 12 The Dance Space, St. John’s Arts and Culture Center
If you are successful with the 1st round of auditions, you will be invited to a movement/dance call back on Sunday. The results of the first round of auditions will be posted on this website late Saturday night June 11th.
You will be asked to come back in groups of 20 for a movement/dance call back. These movement/dance call backs will be held for 1 hour and will determine our children’s chorus, teenage chorus, adult chorus and dance choruses. Roles such as The Beggars, Mrs. Fezziwig, Mr. Fezziwig, Ghost of Christmas Past, Young Marley, Youngest Scrooge, Younger Scrooge, Young Scrooge, Tiny Tim, Mr. Cratchit and Family, Scrooge’s Nephew and his wife, and Belle will be in part determined from people in these choruses.
We are looking forward to seeing you, determining our cast and beginning rehearsals on Friday nights and Saturdays in September.
